THE DORSAL
Single stringer staircase with fin gussets
A single center stringer with a fin under every tread. The fins carry the treads — and they’re the design’s signature, not hidden structure. The stringer ends in splayed steel feet at the floor, and because the stringer is a single spine, The Dorsal runs thinner wood treads than our block-tread stairs.

HOW IT WORKS
Kits ship anywhere in the U.S. with everything needed to install. Local projects, we coordinate the install on site with you and your contractor.
A note on sales tax: A stair we install for you is priced as a construction job, with no sales tax line for you in Pennsylvania. A stair kit or railing system delivered to a Pennsylvania address is a product sale, so Pennsylvania sales tax applies at the rate for the delivery address — 6% statewide, 8% in Philadelphia, 7% in Allegheny County. Kits shipped to other states are taxed only where the law requires it. Your quote will show the tax once we know the delivery address.
